This is one of the, if not the best, books in the Redwall series. As opposed to being three books covering a great siege or a mass rebellion against tryannical slavery, we come to differing plot line... Deyna (an otter), is taken captive by a tribe of Juska (wandering vermin) while he was taken with his father for a ceremony of particular importance to otters, he is captured because he is the next Taggerung (a great Juska warrior). He spent fifteen seasons in captivity he runs away after his adoptive father, a powerful chieftain, drove him to do something he wouldn't fream of, so he fled. On his journey he befriends a few wanderers and small tribes, and learns about his true heritage. All in all it is a good read.
