Perhaps because she is such a young writer, the author has a great imagination and is able to portray the characters in such a clear and descriptive way. She came up with this great story that can be thought of in different contexts. For example, difference in races(in this book its not ethnicities, but shapeshifter races),a war that no one remembers how it got started or why its still going on,an arranged marriage, berayal, and falling in love with the person you least thought possible. Danica, the main character, is part of the avian shapeshifters. Shane is part of the serpentine people. They are from two different cultures, two different worlds, that refuse to come together due to a strong prejudice. Together they must(reluctantly) get to trust each other in order to bring peace to their people and maybe find love along the way.
