Veil is a young ferret who is son of Swartt Sixclaw. When Swartts sixclawed paw is ruined by a badger named Sunflash, hes sworn to himself that he will hunt down Sunflash, while Sunflash feels the same way towards Swartt. Swartt leaves his son at the gates of Redwall and thay are slow to except Veil. But when he does something unforgivable, he is proclaimed outcast, and now he must chose between his father, and the only peopl who have ever cared for him.
