Yes, another book in the Eragon series. Eragon, Saphira, and Roran's trials have only begun. Now they track the Ra'zac who have stolen Katrina. After that grisly adventure the group head back to the Varden for a much needed celebration. But of course, it doesn't last long and Eragon is back in training. Then Saphira reveals to him a message from old Brom. A message that reveals one heck of a surprise and a bit of hope.

This book is practically an action movie, moving from one battle to the next, though not all are bloody. Keep reading this series!

Eragon and Saphira have been through quite a bit. Dear friends have been lost. Traitors have been revealed. Eragon is now Shadeslayer. But they are about to discover something amazing.  Something that brings them hope.

Meanwhile the reader also follows the story of Eragon's cousin, Roran, in Carvahall for he is about to embark on an adventure of his own. I wish I could tell you more but there are so many interlocking twists in this tale that all I can do is implore you to read it!

If you read Eragon then please continue, I promise you it only gets better!

Eragon

Eragon. Where do I begin? Chris Paolini has not created a world on the level of Middle Earth but he came quite close. The story begins with an unlikey hero (how else?); Eragon. Eragon is just a farm boy, but one day he finds a blue stone at the foot of the Spine, a long mountain range that has kept his village from the tyranny of the King. There's just one problem. That stone isn't a stone. It's an egg.

Eragon has just become Alagaesia's first Dragon Rider in a long, long time. And by doing so he has opened up a BIG can o' worms. Now weird creatures are trying to kill him, by order of King Galbotorix, his dragon is growing way to big, and a crotchety old man is telling him what to do.

The last thing Kelsey Hayes thought she'd be doing this summer was trying to break a 300-year-old Indian curse, with a mysterious whiter tiger named Ren, halfway around the world.

But that's exactly what happened.

Face-to-face with dark forces, spellbinding magic, and mystical worlds where nothing is what it seems; Kelsey risks everything to piece together an ancient prophecy that could break the curse forever.

This is a book you'll want to read over and over again.

Christopher Pike certainly has a gift for making the impossible seem plausible. Main character Jessie Ralle is completely relatable as the fresh out of high school girl, as well as her first relationship, on her way to the destination of a lifetime, Sin City. But things get weird, fast. She finds herself in Witch World. I definitely had trouble putting this book down and I absolutely recommend it to anyone who enjoys a surprise with virtually every turn of the page.

This was a book I couldn't put down if I tried. We know now who Karou is and what she needs to do. Brimstone is gone. Akiva has betrayed her. She is alone. Now, with her people on the brink of extinction Karou must become the new resurrectionist. And the war is about to start again, with a vengeance. Does Akiva and Karou's broken and battered dream of a different life stand a chance? Does their love? An amazing read, one I encourage you to pick up.

Laini Taylor is a great author. Karou seems to come to life on these pages, as vibrantly as her blue hair and surrounded by mystery to boot. A mystery she wants to unveil. Under the watchful and loving eyes of her family of monsters she lives a normal life. If being sent out on dangerous missions all over the world to collect teeth, of all things, at a moments notice can be called normal. But Karou is happy. Then he shows up. Burning eyes and wings and an attraction that she can't deny. Who is Karou? Why does she collect teeth?  You and she will find out. Together.

For any of you who want to get into the amazing world of Middle Earth I certainly suggest that you read The Hobbit. Not only does it help to know the story before The Lord of the Rings, it gets one into the mindset I might say is required in order to read Tolkien. But once you're in, hold on. Middle Earth is a vast and wondrous place, casting a spell that has completely ensnared me and will likely ensnare you. It doesn't hurt that poor Bilbo's confusion and complaints make him entirely adorable.
