Jonas's world is perfect. Everything is orderly, and everything is the same. That all changes when Jonas meets the Giver, and learns about the happiness (and the pains) of a normal life. Lowry keeps you in suspense at every chapter, mysteriously giving you details and making you want to read more. If you are going to read this book, save a lot of time because you're not going to stop!
