The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom was assigned to my Honors English class for summer reading. This true story greatly inspired and motivated me.

Corrie Ten Boom was a loving Christian woman living in Holland. Her family always cooked meals for the hungry and clothed the needy. They never turned down anyone who came to their door. However, during World War II many people needed the love and care that the Ten Boom family offered. Jewish people especially were in desperate need of food and housing. The Germans were taking innocent Jews to concentration camps. Jews were beaten and killed at the hand of the Nazi's. Corrie and her family began an underground operation of housing Jews. They even created a secret room in their house that the Jews could hide in.

Throughout the book theTen Boom family is persecuted just for helping fellow humans. They continue to show Jesus' love to the Jews as well as the ruthless Nazi's. I was deeply inspired by how much Corrie depended on God to carry her through difficult situations. Her faithful and courageous attitude will stay with me for along time.
