Grace and Conner Tempest are twins. Their father, Dexter Tempest, was the lighthouse keeper. After his death, the bank takes away everything that used to belong to the twins and their father. Not being able to fit in, Grace and Connor manages to leave Crescent Moon Bay by jumping onto what used to be their father's boat and sail away. But when a storm hits them, they get shipwrecked and are separated from each other.
They are both miraculously saved. Connor was saved by Cheng Li, the deputy captain aboard The Diablo, and slowly accepts a new life as a pirate. Grace, however, was saved by Lorcan Furey, the midshipman aboard the legendary vampirate ship, and she sails with them. With their new lives in store for them, trouble and danger can't be too far away.
When you read this book, there are 2 stories going at once, one of Connor's life on The Diablo, and the other is Grace's life aboard the vampirate ship. I enjoy the action and adventure in this book, since it never seems to die. Also, most people believe that vampires just suck on peoples blood, sleep in coffins, turn into bats and so on. In this book, the vampires are pirates, something completely different! That's why I enjoyed this book, since the vampires in the story are a little different.
