Set in Paris in the 1930s, Hugo Cabret is a timekeeper, an orphan, and a thief who lives in a secret room in the train station. After his father dies in a museum fire, Hugo is left in the care of his uncle, who keeps the all 27 clocks in in the clock tower well oiled and running on time. Hugo is then caught by the owner of a toy stand while he is attempting to steal some toys - using the parts to repair an automan his father tried to fix before the fire. The plot then thickens, as Hugo meets a girl named Isabelle, a man named Etienne, and gets caught by the Station Inspector!

Filled with photographs, drawings, and text, this is a book you HAVE to read!
