Told by the main character, Len Clement, St. Mary Mead’s vicar, the reader is walked through a murder mystery with many Peculiar Things and things you won’t see coming. Of course, Miss Marple is in the heart of this mystery and always seems to be one step ahead of Vicar Clement, Inspector Slack, and Colonel Melchett.

The basis of this story is trying to find who murdered Colonel Protheroe. Once someone turns himself or herself in, Miss Marple is right there telling authorities that they aren’t the murderer and that’s where the story begins. Unexpected relationships, crooked thieves and clever setups are all apart of the fun and thrilling story line.
