Imagine that love was a disease. An actual disease. Well this story is set in the future where love was a bad thing. Boys and girls were segregated and the government would watch your every move. You could not say the word love out loud or not you would get in trouble. You couldn't come in contact with the opposite sex. At the time you turn 18 you must take an evaluation which will determine if you are eligible for the "cure" and to pair you up with your partner. They would look at common interests and income. The story revolves around Lena who is months away from getting the cure, which is basically a brain surgery to get rid of the pleasure releasing hormones in your brain. Lena then begins to feel this warm feeling about a book whom she thought was cured since he had the procedure scar. She then finds out that he is a rebel that doesn't believe in the cure and he too has fallen in love with him. Then the government catches them both together and they try to run for their lives but they catch Lena who is now scheduled for her procedure the next day. Of course here comes her boyfriend to save her. Then they plan to run away into the Wilds, which is the area outside the fenced city where there is no governmental interference and they could love each other freely but things don't turn out as they expected. The ending was so sad, that I have to admit I cried! It's a Must Read book!!

Miles is considered a nerd and a little weird for his obsession with famous last words and he is living his life by the principle of the Great Perhaps, he goes to a college where he meets Alaska who is quite the opposite of him. She is popular and totally out there. He ends up falling in love with her, the unexpected happened. She gets into an accident and Miles is trying to figure out if it was an accident or if it was intentional; suicide. Even though Alaska gave the facade of living life perfectly fine she had to deal with her our issues that no one really knew about. Alaska had been the one who helped Miles live in the Great Perhaps, she helped him discover new things but Miles wasn't able to discover her. It quite sad.

In the last book, Delirium, Alex had to stay behind in order to save Lena and Lena knows what they do to people who break the law. They kill them so she is pretty much 100% sure that Alex is dead. During this book Lena has found herself in the Wilds and has now realized what kind of hardships they have to face. Like the problem with finding food and basic survival needs. Then she reenters a wired up city to live with the cured people. She enters like Alex once entered her town, with the fake scar of the procedure. She now lives in New York City and is trying to secretly bring down the government and corporations that advertise love as a bad thing. Here she meets another boy who she knows isn't cured. Her assignment had been to look after him because some people were after him so she was just doing her job when they both get kidnapped together. When the boy finds out that her scar is false he tries to avoid her at all costs but that is kind of hard to do when you're locked with someone in the same room. They begin to fall in love with each other. Then when they get out Lena is arrested and he is taken back to get his procedure and Lena is no going to let someone get hurt because of her so she decides to go after him. With the help of some of her friends she is able to get him out and take him out to the Wilds with her. Now the problem is, Alex has appeared out of nowhere. He hadn't been killed like she had thought he had been and now she finds herself loving two boys at the same time. But Alex isn't the same, they did something to him which changed him. I'm beyond curious to know what happens next! This is my favorite series ever! I just can't get enough of it.

It's a sad story about a young boy named David whose mom was beyond abusive. She would take long periods of time before she would feed him. He was practically her slave. Once she actually shoved a diaper filled with feces in his face and he mentioned that it got all over his nose and lips. His mom would always favor his little brother and he always believed it had to do with something about his father. Yet aside from this he still felt love for his mother, he had a kind heart.

Grateful Knight has moved into a rent-free house at the edge of a cemetery to get away from an ex boyfriend who pretty much used her to get money. Now she finds herself attracted to the caretaker of the cemetery and it seems supernatural, the types feelings that she has for this man. He then warns her that he thinks that her house is haunted. He is right because Grateful starts seeing a ghost, well before she starts to see that thing are moving on their own. The ghost begins to interact her and he falls for her as well and well Grateful can't deny that she feels something for him as well. Now she must choose between the ghost or the caretaker. The twist is that Grateful had chosen the caretaker in her past lifetimes. Which has no recollection of.

This book is basically the story a girl named Mina who is cursed by the Grimm family curse. Relatives before her have to complete the stories in the Grimoire, which basically a book filled with fairy tale stories, over 100 of them. In order for the curse to be lifted someone must complete every single story in that book. Basis is that she must relive or reenact the scenes. For example, Little Red Riding Hood must be relived with her being Red Riding Hood wearing the red cloak or in her case dress because it's a modern version of the story, they she must fight of the big bad wolf which in this case is a really mean ugly guy. Her mom had tried to protect her from every having to go through this since Mina's dad had died trying to complete the stories. Yet even though they moved from town to town the stories always seemed to catch up so now Mina has decided to complete them all to try and prevent her little brother from having to go through it all. But this task is finding itself to be much harder than she had anticipated.

This is the first book in this series and it has a great start. It starts out very calm and average with twin brother and sister, Josh and Sophie Newman work at their jobs. Sophie works at a coffee shop and her brother work across the street at a bookstore. The bookstore is owned by Nicholas Flamel who, they don't know is immortal. He is the keeper of the Book of Abraham the Mage which holds the secret of never ending life and the world's secrets. It contains everything you would have ever wanted to know. Problem is that the bad guys who are after the book have found it, they destroyed the bookstore and the two witnesses happened to be Josh and Sophie, who now have no choice but to run and hide. But not only did they take the book but they also took Nicholas' wife, Perenelle, who is also very powerful and is able to use "magic" which is the power of their own personal auras. One good thing is that Josh was able to rip the last to pages of the book which are a vital part fo the book, some of the spells or rituals can not be cast without those pages so now Nicholas with the twins are looking for the book and his wife and the bad guys are looking for them to get the last two pages of the book as well as to kill Nicholas and the twins. Yet another twist to the book is that the twins are a viral part of a prophecy that Nicholas had read about in the book. Can't wait to see what happens next!

When reading the summary of the book I never really thought I would enjoy the book very much but to me surprise, I loved it! The narrator Chief Bromden is in an mental institution with some other patients who have they own issues, most of them are there because they just don't seem to fit into society. By today's standards they would be considered average but during this time era it was a novelty and they were judged for who they were. The Randle Patrick McMurphy comes into the ward and disrupts any type of system and order that there was. Nurse Ratched, is the one in charge at the ward and she keeps everyone on a short leash. She becomes very upset with the kind of power McMurphy is giving the patients,she is used to controlling everyone at her own will so this really gets her an. Nurse Ratched and McMurphy really go at each other and at the end there is a twist that I wasn't expecting. When analyzing the book as whole and the small details that are most of the time overlooked I was able to figure out so many things. One of my favorite books by far!

This book is a continuation of the first book in this trilogy. I really enjoyed the progression of the story and the suspense that came from the unpredictable future. The main characters, Lena and Ethan, deserve a happy ending together. They have gone through so much. Lena is a Caster, a powerful Caster that can either doom all the Light Casters in her family or the Dark Casters in her family. Her future is not hers to decide. Aside from that, a Mortal can not physically be with a Caster, especially with a powerful Caster like Lena. There are some events that threaten to break them apart. So will the obstacles tear them apart or make their relationship stronger? I can not wait to read what happens next. Their relationship has taken many hits. Ethan is learning secrets about the Caster world and about Lena. Ethan is trying to unravel the secrets of his future and his destiny.

This is the second book in the Visions series and I have to say that it has very suspenseful scenes. Julia and Sawyer must work together, not that it's hard to do since they love each other, to figure out now Sawyer visions which Julia seems to have passed on to him. He struggles to find the clues that will lead to the event but they figure it out at the very last minute. Sawyer's and Julia's parents find out that they have been seeing each other and they both get punished for their actions, especially Sawyer. In a fit of rage Julia tells her dad the truth about the whole family rivalry and he is stunned so they aren't exactly on speaking terms. At the end Julia starts to wonder how her vision thing ended up transferring to Sawyer which leads her to come up with a hypothesis that she wants to test out. But Sawyer isn't too sure about her finding out the truth, what if she's right? What happens next? There really should have been another book to the series. I really enjoyed this series and look forward to read more books from this author.

I found it very interesting to have read a World War I book from the German point of view and to be honest if I hadn't known that the book was from the German's side I would have never been able to tell because it's practically the same as the American side. Each side experienced its fair share of deaths. Paul, the narrator, enlisted in the war right out of high school with a group of his friends. He explains the horrible conditions in which they had to live in and the types of deaths they experienced. It also shows the internal struggle in which Paul faced when trying to fit back into society.

This book is the first book in the duo of the Visions series. It revolves around Julia, an Italian high school student who is stuck in the middle of two families rivalry. Her family, the Demarco's and the opposing family, the Angotti's. Each family owns their own Italian restaurant and they do not get along. But this goes far more than just restaurant rivalry and Julia begins to unravel why. Not only that but the love of her life is part of the Angotti's family. His name is Sawyer and they have not been allowed to talk to each other since fourth grade. The game changer is that Julia has started to see a vision in which she sees an accident happen that ends Sawyer's life. She knows she is not crazy but how does she make Sawyer believe her when they haven't talked to each other in over 7 years. Against all odds she tries her best to stop that accident from happening whether anyone believes her or not. The ending of the story totally encouraged me to read the second book in the series. Which is what I'm currently reading. I would totally recommend this book because it's a modern and supernatural twist to the old Romeo & Juliet.

This book is the final book in the Wake trilogy. It revolves around a girl named Janie who gets sucked into the dreams of others. She has no way of controlling it. If she steps into a room with her delusional alcoholic mother dreaming she will be able to see her mother's dream. She feels the pull and she becomes numb all over. She had to keep it a secret from everyone which was hard since many of her classmates would fall asleep in class and she would have no choice but to see what they were dreaming. Then she falls in love with a guy who soon finds out her secret. Caleb stays with her even though they both learn the hard truth of janie's future. She had to make the choice of staying with him ot leaving due to this cold hard truth. Then there's also the issue of his father who seems to have just appeared into her life once again. She has to deal with so many problems all at once and she feels like she has no one to talk to since the guy she loves starts to have dreams about her that she is able to see as well and they aren't cute lovey dovey things either. At the end I have to say that it's a good ending for the trilogy. Finally I have completed the series!
