In The Penultimate Peril (book 12) the Children work in a hotel, as they eavesdrop on members of Olaf's gang and find some important things out. They are so close to discovering the secret of Count Olaf.... Very good book! One thing I like about the Series of Unfortunate events is that Lemony Snicket provides readers with the opportunity to broaden their vocabulary by using words we probably don't already know, and then saying the definition when he uses it.

The Hostile Hospital (book 8) takes the Baudelaire children on a trip with the Volunteers Fighting Disease (Another V.F.D. acronym) they end up as Volunteers in the library and find out some very important stuff by reading the Quagmire twin's notes. Fun book. It is really fun to see what Count Olaf's ridiculous schemes and plots will be with each new book.

The Grim Grotto (book 11) sends to the Baudelaire's looking for for the mysterious sugar bowl in Gorgonian Grotto. Count Olaf shows up again and manages to kidnap the children. Will they get away? Great book! I think the books gets better and better as they get near the end. Lemony Snicket's brillance can never run out!

The Ersatz Elevator (book 6) is one of my favorite books out of the series of unfortunate events This time the Baudeliare children are placed the the custody of the Mr. and Mrs. Squalor. Count Olaf comes again this time disguised as an auctioneer. Some characters from book 5, come back and we meet a new character who will be in other books. Great book! I love the plot on this one. Very very unqiue

The Baudelaires find themselves washed up on an island, after escaping from the hotel. Lucky for them the island "manager" is not permitting Olaf to come to the island, but lets the Baudelaire stay. Will the finally uncover the secret in the last book in the series of unfortunate events??? Definitely my favorite book out of the whole series. A must read!!!! Great end to a great series.

In the Carnivorous Carnival (book 9), the Baudelaire hide from Count Olaf, by working in a carnival in the house of freaks... right under Olaf's nose. Great story. We meet all of the funny house of freak characters that really make this book great!

The Austere Academy (book 5) is another example of the brilliance in the series of unfortunate events. The Baudeliare children get sent to Prufrock Preparatory School. Vice principal, Nero, has agreed to protect them from Count Olaf...... This book has some interesting new characters that come into play again in future books. Very Good Book!!

This time around (The third book) the Baudeliare siblings go and live with their loony Aunt Josephine. Not long after they get there do more unfortunate things start happening and Count Olaf tries to gain custody through clever disguises once again. This book is one of my least favorite out of the series. I did not enjoy the plot as much as I did on the rest of the novels.

Catcher in the Rye is a novel about a teenager named Holden Caulfield. Holden's problem is that he doesn't want to grow up. He thinks after someone grows up they become phony, and he doesn't want to be phony himself. This is a great book with a topic many people can relate to: the fear of growing up. I enjoyed this novel although there were some dull parts in the book.

This story is about two bounty hunters.  One being Train, who is an interesting hero who kept me laughing. It's a good story, and it's funny.  There was excitement, and drama..without it being too dramatic.
