Book 1 in the Phantom Stallion series. Samantha Forster, or Sam as she prefers to be called, has returned home from Los Angeles after being there for two years. (Her dad sent her there after a near-fatal accident; her half-wild horse, Blackie, had bucked and a hoof had struck her head. I think it was just too much for her dad since his wife's death.) When a mustang comes to Sam, one night, she wonders is it Blackie, grown up and gone wild? Or is it the legendary Phantom? Or could it be both? Includes authentic ranch life.
