The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky is a great book, written as a series letters from an introvert freshmen named Charlie. Charlie has just lost his best friend, Michael. He starts off his first year of high school feeling very lonely. He eventually meets two seniors, Patrick and Sam, who are step-sibilings. Charlie is intregated into their circle of friends. Charlie experiences his first kiss, experiments with drugs and watches as his friends and sister go through their last year of high school. I found this book very enjoyable. It may seem like an easy read, but one must analyze and infer what other characters are going through. This is a great coming of age book.
