With the Pandora app, a person can listen to "radio stations" based on an artist or song name (typed in when creating the station) or one of the many genres provided. The songs that will be played on the station can not be manually chosen, but thanks to the options provided you can influence what is played. Pandora is wonderful for discovering new artists, or even just exploring genres you are already familiar with. It's funded by ads (unless you upgrade to the "premium" version) but they aren't really all that obtrusive and no benefits are lost if you don't upgrade. I definitely recommend this app to all music lovers, since everyone's sure to find something they like while using it.

Overdrive is, without a doubt, one of the best apps ever created. Using it, Kindle Fire owners can instantly (or after a little while if there's a waiting list) check out audio and e-books using their library accounts. This is the one app I use every day because I absolutely love audiobooks more than anyone really should. (That was a joke.) If you have a Kindle Fire, but don't have the Overdrive app, then you are sadly uninformed and really should go get it right now because you will more-than-likely appreciate it.
I would recommend this to: Kindle Fire owners who read e-books or listen to audiobooks on a regular basis.

If you enjoy reading, reviewing books, and getting book recommendations, then Goodreads is for you. Using this app, you can do ask those things and many more, including joining reading groups, entering drawings to win free review copies of books, setting a reading goal for the year, and adding books to your read, to-read, and currently-reading lists. The app even keeps track of your reading progress and allows you to submit reviews for books you've finished! Thanks to the many different features Goodreads has, I've come across many different books I wouldn't have found on my own, which is always greatly appreciated. This app is really amazing, one I would give full marks without another thought.
I would recommend this to: Book lovers who own a Kindle Fire or Apple mobile device.

LibraryBooks is an extremely useful iPhone app that allows people to easily and quickly check on their library holds, book return-by dates, and checkout history. Without the app, checking on my library account was rather inconvenient, but once I downloaded it I was able to access it quickly and easily. LibraryBooks has proven itself on many occasions to be simple, yet effective, and very, very useful. I highly recommend it.
I would recommend this to: Library lovers and iPhone owners who would enjoy the convenience this app provides.

The Music+ app is absolutely fantastic because not only does it contain a large variety of songs, but it also allows you to download them for free. Every time I hear a song on the radio that I like, I can find it in the app. I simply type in the name of the song or the artist or both and it usually has it. The quality is great and I can download the songs directly onto my laptop to transfer to other devices. They even have a top charts section that lets me look for new songs by genre. I love that I can look up anything from old Disney songs to the newest rock album. This is an awesome app.
I would recommend this to: Anyone that enjoys music

Taylor Edwards never felt like she stood out-except for her history of running away when things get too complicated. Then her dad receives unexpected, terrible news, and the family makes the last-minute decision to spend the summer together in the cramped quarters at their old lake house.
Taylor hasn't been to the summerhouse since she was twelve, and she definitely never planned on going back. Up at the lake she is confronted with people she thought she left behind, like her former best friend Lucy, and Henry Crosby, her first crush, who's all grown up. Suddenly Taylor is surrounded by memories she'd rather leave in the past-but she can't run away this time. Will she get her second chances?
I love this book because it is all about facing what you ran away from and treasuring the gift of a second chance given to you. This book can teach young girls an important lesson about doing so
I would recommend this to: Teen girls 13 and up, romance lovers
